A time to celebrate the life of Craig E. "Craigger" Ortman, 59, a resident of Davenport, will begin at 12:00 p.m. Friday, October 26, 2012 at Kilkenny's Pub, Harrison and 3rd Streets, Davenport. Private family inurnment has taken place at the National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal with military honors. Craigger died Monday, October 22, 2012 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Davenport.
Craig Ellis Ortman was born on November 27, 1952 in Waterloo, Iowa, a son of Vernon William and Lila Belle (Sheets) Ortman. He proudly served our country in the Marine Corps form 1971 until 1973.
Craigger retired as a machinist at the Rock Island Arsenal in 2009 after 30 years of service. He enjoyed reading, fishing, and rooting for the Chicago Cubs and Bears.
Craigger is survived by his sons: Nathan Ortman, Charlotte, NC and Keith (Alicia) Ortman, Conway, SC; his mother, Lila Ortman, Waterloo; a sister, Janet Reese, Moline; nephews and niece, Travis and Justin Pietan and Chamie Gettsinger; and many close friends.
