DoLores L. Youngquist, 81, a resident of Davenport, died Monday, December 10, 2012 at Davenport Lutheran Home. Graveside services will be held at the National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, December 13, 2012. There will be a visitation will be from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, downtown Davenport. Memorials may be made to the family to establish a memorial at a later date.
DoLores Lorraine Weidenfeller was born on March 7, 1931 in Hawarden, Iowa, a daughter of Frank J. and LorRaine Weidenfeller. She was united in marriage to Roger E. Youngquist on May 29, 1964. They have shared 48 years of marriage together.
DoLores had worked in her younger years as an operator at Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. She later owned and operated Ra Enterprises in the Village of East Davenport.
She enjoyed gardening, ceramics, collecting Boyd's Bears, and lifting weights. DoLores also had deep love for all animals.
She is survived by her husband, Roger, Davenport; children, Kim Busch, Blue Grass, Dana (Michael) Clowers, Little Rock, Arkansas, and Clint (Michele) Youngquist, Eldridge; grandchildren, Michelle (Todd) Lee, Holly (Chris) Pelton, Alison (Daniel) Burrell, Josiah (Anna) Clowers, Brianna and Kimberly Clowers, Carson, Carley, Caden, and Cayla Youngquist; and 6 great grandchildren.
DoLores was preceded in death by her siblings: Frank "Monte" Weidenfeller and FranCelle Bliss.
