Funeral services and a Mass of Christian Burial for Germaine J. "Gerry" Miller, 98, a resident of Moline, formerly of Davenport, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 29, 2012 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Davenport. Burial will take place in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, downtown Davenport. Gerry passed away peacefully Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Rosewood Care Center of Moline.
Germaine Joanna Kerckhove was born on October 23, 1914 in East Moline, Illinois, a daughter of Cyriel and Alida DeBruyne. She was united in marriage to Glenn Miller on January 3, 1942 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline. He preceded her in death on April 28, 1999. They shared 57 years of marriage together.
Gerry was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, and their Altar and Rosary Society. She enjoyed sewing, crossword puzzles, reading, and never missed an opportunity to catch the Lawrence Welk Show on Saturday nights.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
Gerry is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Olga Miller, Manassas, Virginia and Mark and Jamie Miller, East Moline, Illinois; grandchildren, Robert Miller, Larissa Miller, and Taylor Miller; and great-grandchildren: Robert Jared Miller and Alexander Miller.
Gerry was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn, parents, and brothers: Marcel, Jule, and Maurie Kerckhove. May they rest in peace.
