Funeral services to celebrate the life of James "Patrick" Dolan, 78, a resident of Davenport, will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, October 1, 2012 at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, 614 Main Street, downtown Davenport. Visitation will be Monday prior to the service from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Pat died Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at Select Specialty Hospital, Davenport.
James Patrick Dolan was born August 21, 1934 in Davenport, a son of Joseph and Yvelle (Neilssen) Dolan. He was a 1956 graduate of St. Ambrose College. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army.
Pat had lived and worked most of his adult life in Chicago as a Social Worker for the State of Illinois, retiring in 2002. He was an avid opera lover and history buff as well as an aspiring author.
Memorials may be made to the family.
He is survived by his siblings, Dennis (Josie) Dolan, Bettendorf, Jean Dolan, Lexington SC, Marilyn Quijas, Davenport, Terry Dolan, Davenport, Kathy (John) Reddington, Davenport, Susan Dolan, Long Grove, IA; his special friends, Don and Pauline France, Davenport; his godson, David (Ginger) France, Bettendorf, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents.
