Kery K. Beck, 35, a resident of Davenport, died unexpectedly Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Genesis Medical Center, West Central Park, following a sudden illness.
Funeral services to celebrate Kery's life will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 14, 2012, in the All Faith Chapel at Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, 614 Main Street, Davenport. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. Visitation will be today (Thursday) from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. There will be additional visitation on Friday at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the service time.
Kery K. Beck was born on September 21, 1976 in Davenport, a son of Jack Gilbert and Judith Karen (Humphreys) Beck. He graduated from Central High School in 1995 and earned his associates degree from Scott Community College.
Kery had an infectious personality which would light up a room and make everyone smile. This served him well during his career as a bartender; he turned many a stranger into a friend and loyal customer.
He was a diehard Cubs fan, loved soccer and was a Pearl Jam fan.
Memorials may be made to the family.
Those left to honor Kery's memory are his sister, Jodi Beck, brothers, Kris (Pratiabha) Beck, and Erik Beck; his nieces who adored him, Heather and Alexandrea; his best friend and confidants, Josie Kausal and Sasha Rowland; his honorary mother, Donna Siebert; aunts, uncles, cousins, and all of his friends and co-workers who were like family to him; plus his dear canine companions, Addison, Riley, and Lilly.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lisa, in infancy.
