Margaret Mary Lonergan was born March 25, 1941 in Davenport, a daughter of Thomas James and Margaret Grace (Quinn) Lonergan. She graduated from the first graduating class of Assumption High School and then graduated nursing school in Marshalltown. She then worked in earlier years for the office of Dr. Larson and Dr. Motto. She had also assisted in the operation of the family business McClung Painting and Wall Covering. Maggs had a knack for the latest trends and styles, and used that to assist customers during her years at the shop in the East Village.
She enjoyed boating and had been active at the Lindsey Park Yacht Club. She also cherished time spent with her family, whether supporting her kids and grandchildren at school or sporting events, to following Kelly on the racing circuit, Maggie was always an enthusiastic and loyal support to her beloved family. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, twinkling eyes; and for her comforting thoughts and personal notes of encouragement that she sent quietly to so many friends and acquaintances.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Pat, and children, sons, Kelly McClung and Kevin (Patty) McClung, a daughter, Megan McClung Kaasa; grandchildren, Kayla, Kelsey and Garner; her beloved Storm; and siblings, Rita M. Kelley, Kathy (Bill) Cumming, Mary (Robert) Dunworth, and Jimmy Lonergan; sisters-in-law, Kay (John) Weir, Palatine, IL and Jane (Tom) DeWalsche, Eldridge, IA..
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Patricia Barnard and Bridget Lonergan, and a brother, Thomas James Lonergan. May they rest in peace.
