Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial for Ralph Braun, 84, a resident of Princeton, Iowa will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 16550 – 290th Street, Long Grove. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday at the church in the day chapel from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. There will be a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday that all are invited to attend. There will be additional visitation from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at St. Ann's.
Halligan – McCabe – DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mr. Braun died Saturday September 8, 2012 at Genesis Medical Center West Central Park, Davenport, following an extended illness.
Ralph was born November 25, 1927 in Bergenquelle, Ukraine, a son of Anton and Eva (Emmler) Braun. He was united in marriage to Emilie Heck in 1946 in Germany.
Ralph had farmed in Scott County since immigrating to America in 1952. He had also worked off the farm at the former J.I. Case for 14 years and Iowa and Illinois Concrete Company. Ralph enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Memorials can be made to Genesis Medical Center - Cancer Care or the Iowa Cancer Specialists.
Survivors include his loving wife of over 65 years, Emilie and their four sons, Anton Braun, Cedar Rapids, Peter (Sandra) Braun, Davenport, Rudolph "Rudy" Braun, Austin, TX and Robert (Candy) Braun, Troy, OH; 5 grandchildren, Jeff Braun and Jenny Braun, both of Davenport, Nick (Molly) Braun, Colorado Springs, CO, Brian Braun, Chicago, IL and Cody Braun Austin, TX; 4 great grandsons, Noah, Owen, Nathan, Matthew; a sister, Elizabeth Rudminat, Eldridge.
