Memorial services celebrating the life of Sidney P. Agent, Jr., 45, of Dahlonega, GA, will be at Noon on Friday, October 12, 2012 at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Visitation will be from 10am until time of service Friday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be to the family for an educational fund to be established for his daughter Jadelyn.
Mr. Agent passed away September 29, 2012 in Dahlonega as a result of injuries received in a motorcycle accident.
Sidney Paul Agent, Jr., was born April 17, 1967 in Bakersfield, CA, the son of Sidney, Sr. and Shirley Agent. He graduated in 1985 from Hawthorne High School, Hawthorne, CA and joined the Army. He was united in marriage to Jennifer Oaks in 1991 in Redlands, CA and although they later divorced, they remained good friends along with her parents Lyle and Sue Lund of Muscatine.
Sidney retired from the Army at Ft. Campbell after twenty-one years of service that stationed him in Malaysia, Japan and several bases in the United States. He was a Ranger and a member of the "101st Airborne Division" and had taught survival skills to other service members.
For the past two years he had worked as a mechanic at Frazier's Harley-Davidson of Buford, GA and had just been promoted to assistant service manager.
He loved the outdoors and loved to fish, hunt, skateboard, surf, and ride motorcycles. He was a member and VP of the Wingmen Motorcycle Club.
Survivors include his beloved daughter Jadelyn Agent, Coal Valley, IL,; mother Shirley Seaton, Davenport; sisters April Agent, Covina, CA, Patty (Doug) Davis, Fontana, CA; stepmother, Debbie Agent; paternal grandmother Blanche Fonville, Murray, KY; aunt Joyce Ferri; niece and nephews Tiffany Davis, Douglas Davis, Richard Agent, Matthew and Michael Reiner; cousins Bobby and Billy; and his chocolate Lab "Dutchess."
His father, stepfather James Seaton, paternal grandfather Guy Fonville and maternal grandparents preceded him in death.
