Funeral Services and a Mass of Christian Burial for Thomas R. Reinhold, 70, a resident of Davenport formerly of Bettendorf will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 28, 2012 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 4097 – 18th Street, Bettendorf. The visitation will be in true "Hawkeye Tailgate" style on Thursday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, 614 Main Street, downtown Davenport where Hawkeye attire is strongly encouraged - GO HAWKS! Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal with military honors provided by Vietnam Veterans of America - Quad City Chapter 299. There will be an additional visitation at the church Friday from 9:30 until the mass time. Tom died peacefully Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at the Kahl Home in Davenport.
Thomas Richard Reinhold was born December 22, 1941, in Davenport, Iowa, a son of Richard and Bernice (Rymars) Reinhold. Tom was a 1960 graduate of Davenport Assumption High School. He served our country in the U.S. Navy from 1960-1964. Tom was united in marriage to Jane Graham on October 12, 1968 in Kewanee, Illinois. Mr. Reinhold was a locksmith, he owned Tom Reinhold Locksmith retiring in 2007 following 43 years in business in the Quad Cities.
Tom loved his family more than anything in the world. He taught us so much through his unconditional love, tender heart, strong work ethic, and hilarious sense of humor. He will be dearly missed by all. He was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and the Coral Sea Association. He was an I-Club member and an avid Hawkeye fan as well as a loyal Cubs fan.
Survivors include his loving wife of nearly 44 years, Jane, of Bettendorf and their four daughters and sons-in-law; Cynthia and Grant Lemen, Simpsonville, SC, Karen and Aaron Hayes, Bettendorf, Kathleen and Nathan Hernandez, Davenport, Amy and Jimmy Reeves, Kansas City, MO; ten wonderful grandchildren, Peyton, Ben, Lily, Cassandra, Grace, Brooke, Kyler, Declan, Sam and Finley; his siblings; two sisters and brothers-in-law; Mary Ann and Bob Andrew, Geneseo, IL, Fran and Dick Haase, West Des Moines, IA; a brother, Stan Reinhold of Bettendorf. Tom was preceded in death by his parents. May they rest in peace.
Memorials may be made to the Kahl Home or Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
